Central Station Operator:

Cape Cod Alarm Company has an open position for a Central Station Operator/Customer Service representative. This is a critical position, as you will be representing the company over the phone to customers and to local emergency services.

Essential duties may include:

  • Answering incoming phone calls, directing them to the proper channels.
  • Responding to alarm events, engaging with subscribers and emergency services as necessary.
  • Troubleshooting over the phone, providing assistance and guidance to callers.

Ideal candidates:

  • Possess strong customer service skills, including problem solving;
  • Are able to perform basic data entry and type at a functional level;
  • Are computer literate (Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office skills a plus);
  • Can speak fluent English; be able to speak loudly and coherently for the entire shift;
  • Are comfortable working in a group office, as part of a team of operators;
  • Must be reliable, punctual and able to work in-office for all scheduled shifts;
  • Must have reliable transportation to and from our offices;
  • Are able to multitask and keep highly organized in a fast paced and sometimes stressful environment
  • All applicants considered will be given a background screening, must be able to pass a CORI check and obtain a Massachusetts Department of Public Safety Security Certificate of Clearance.

Experience as a central station operator or related position is preferred but not necessary, training is available for the right candidate.

Fixed Schedule

Early morning shift: Sunday, Monday, Friday, Saturday; 12am – 8am, 8 hour shifts, 32 hours per week. Central station operates 24/7; availability on weekends, holidays, and during inclement weather is a requirement.
Plus a rotating on-call schedule

Base Salary

Higher than average based upon experience and performance
